So, what are some of the main elements in a country rustic wedding? For starters, you should probably have a barn on hand (check). The groomsmen should also have bow ties or suspenders or possibly both (check and check). The bridesmaids dresses should definitely be in a pastel tone – preferably peach, blush or some pink-influenced colour tone (check)You should almost definitely have patio string lights (a.k.a. Cafe lights or bistro lights) and lots of wood accents (check). A country rustic wedding is nothing without cute centerpieces and table numbers (check). An antique car isn’t required, but it is certainly a nice touch (check) and hipster sleeve tattoos also don’t hurt, if ya know what I mean (check).
This country rustic wedding was certainly adorable and the groomsmen (who I spent the morning with) were a riot and sure loved to have a good time (as I’m sure is captured in their getting ready / party bus photos. The venue location was perfect! Maple Dell Acres is just outside of Bowden Alberta (close to Innisfail and about 1hr outside of Calgary) and is full of really awesome country rustic accents that are a photographers dream come true. I hope you enjoyed these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them!
For this wedding I was acting as a second shooter for Brandie Sunley associate photographer for Edward Ross Photography.
